How we think about big feelings

Made for connection, not compliance.

We make gentle, screen-free tools for big feelings, and we’re careful about how. We follow the direction set by bodies like the Harvard Center on the Developing Child and the NAEYC: behaviour is communication, and children learn to manage big feelings through connection with a calm grown-up, not through punishment.

No labels, no diagnoses, no fixing. These are gentle, screen-free ideas to enjoy together, not medical, therapeutic, or behaviour advice.

  • Made for connection, not compliance.
  • Built to be used with a grown-up, not instead of one. Co-regulation first; independence in time.
  • Grounded in current thinking on co-regulation and emotion coaching, as inspiration only.
  • Independent Australian publisher
  • The research is cited on every tool
  • Free to print, no sign-up, no catch
  • Adults only, no children’s data collected

Queensland curriculum, sorted. Every free maths sheet is mapped to the Australian Curriculum v9.0 (ACiQ), by Prep and Year level, with the AC9 code on each. Find the resource for an outcome and tick it off your plan. Teachers in New South Wales and other states can use every sheet too, since the underlying Australian Curriculum outcomes are the same nationwide.

Fast Finishers New

Use it when a child finishes early, every single day, and asks what to do.

Built on short, independent practice that keeps learning ticking over (Rosenshine, 2012).

The room has tipped Brain Breaks and Transitions, quick movement and settle cards for the gaps in the day.

Brain Breaks & Transitions New

Sixty-second resets on a ring: wake-up energisers, calm-down breaks, four transition cues that stop the scramble, and quiet games for the rainy indoor lunch.

Built on brief activity breaks that help a class come back on task (Mahar, 2006).

Sick-day rescue The Emergency Relief Day, a whole no-prep day plan to leave for a relief teacher.

The Emergency Relief Day New

Use it when you wake up sick and have nothing ready for a reliever.

A whole grab-and-go day: a full timetable, ready-to-run morning and afternoon sheets, and a fill-in handover so a relief teacher who has never met your class still has a calm, useful day. Prepare it once.

Made with real classrooms in mind, the day you most need it sorted in advance.

Use it when a child can point to a feeling more easily than say it.

A laminate-and-pin check-in board, cut-out mood faces children move, name tokens, and a gentle reflection sheet for afterwards. Foundation to Year 4.

Built around naming feelings, which research suggests helps most in the genuinely hard moments (affect labelling).

Reading & learning that sticks

For sounding out first words, story time, and the lessons you want to hold. Three of the best-studied ideas in early reading and learning, made simple enough to use tomorrow.

Sounding out Sound It Out, decodable words with sound buttons under each letter to press and blend.

Sound It Out New

Use it when a child is ready to turn letters into their first read words.

The say-it-then-blend-it routine made playful: a sounding-out guide, sound-button practice words, the common letter teams, a Robot Talk game, and tricky words to learn by heart. Foundation to Year 2.

Built on systematic synthetic phonics, among the most reliable findings in early reading (AERO; EEF).

At story time Talk About It, read-together bookmarks that turn any picture book into a chat.

Talk About It bookmark

Use it when you want story time to grow talk and new words, not just turn pages.

Make it stick Make It Stick, a recall game that helps last week's learning hold.

Make It Stick

Use it when a class learned something last week and you want it to hold.

Turns recalling rather than re-reading, and coming back across spread-out days, into a game: a recall-game card set, a Come-Back Calendar, and an I-do, we-do, you-do strip.

Built on retrieval and spaced practice, two of the most reliable findings in learning (Dunlosky, 2013).
